
Amy Howard is a creative and innovative choreographer based in London. She completed a degree in dance and drama studies at Roehampton University 2004.
Following three years freelancing as a Dance-Artist in London and Surrey, Amy returned to Roehampton University and completed a Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography.
Over the past six years, she has worked as a choreographer with 2nd Nature Dance Company, Surrey Youth Dance Company, in a number of schools and colleges supported by Surrey County Arts, South-East Dance and The Place and with a much loved over-fifties group based in central London.
As a rehearsal assistant, Amy has also worked with established choreographers Carol Brown – Nineteenth Step (2008) and Place Prize finalist Simon Ellis - Gertrude (2008).
Amy’s own creative practice has led her to collaborate with film director, Phil Mash. Creating two Contemporary Dance Films, Tree (2004) and their latest piece,
N O W H E R E (2009).

Originally from Lithuania Deima came to the UK in 2000 to pursue a career in dance and music.
After completing a Dance Foundation course at Tower Hamlets College she went on to attend Roehampton University. Gaining a BA (hons) in Dance Studies in 2005 and a MFA in Choreography in 2009.
Whilst studying Deima choreographed and performed in a number of London based projects including: Cloud Dance Festival, IJO Music video, Parlour Group Events and Degree shows.
Deima's interest is in the intricate use of the body. Her work aims to explore different ways to escape habitual movement whilst dwelling on ideas of femininity. Deima often works with sound developing movements based on the experience of sounds resonating in the body and the mind.
Currently Deima is working on her own choreography projects and dancing with Poetic Matter.
Deima also teaches yoga and release-based dance classes across London.

Elaine is director and choreographer for Poetic Matter. She performs and collaborates with other dance artists and is a member of Amici Dance Theatre Company. She is Lecturer in Cunningham technique at Roehampton University.
Elaine trained at The Urdang Academy of Ballet and Performing Arts in 1992 and in 1998 gained a degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths’ College where she began to work with movement, video and photography.
She subsequently formed performance art duo Traxis producing movement-based work for festivals and art events in London and across the UK.
As a student she worked supporting people with disabilities, which started an interest in inclusive dance and led to joining Amici Dance Theatre in 2001. She regularly leads inclusive and community dance workshops as part of their education team and for ActOne Arts Base, Hertfordshire.
Elaine completed a MFA in Choreography in 2008 from Roehampton University.
Her interests are: the body in performance space, definitions of space and time, communication, movement and language.
