OUTSIDE OF TIME

CDE launch event held on Wed 14 & Thurs 15 April 2010 at Village Underground, London.

OUTSIDE OF TIME was an alchemic event merging dance, film, live music and poetry in an immersive journey of transformation and extraordinary worlds. The evening included three dance works which unfolded around the audience offering a new perception of time, people and place.

Amy Howard’s dance film N O W H E R E directed by Phil Mash brought the epic scale of a windswept Wiltshire burial mound into focus.

Outpost, a collaboration between choreographer Elaine Thomas, writer Alison Gibb and musician Laurie Blundell conjured an ancient storm. Inspired by Shakespeare's Tempest it merged movement with poetry, spoken text and live sound.

Remote Within choreographer Deimantė Prišmantaitė brought the performance space to life, manipulating her dancers into antagonistic relationships within the space they inhabited. Forcing them to confront their fears, insecurities and strengths through movement. Ann-Karin Både collaborated with Deima, improvising live sounds to accompany the performance.

Contemporary folk band Dermot & Ann-Karin closed the night with their unique blend of atmospheric sounds and intriguing otherworldly lyrics.
